At Halogen, our goal is to help young people develop positive belief systems and values so that they can take action in their circles of influence. As an end-to-end youth development hub, we aim to build foundational character, mindsets, and skill sets in young people by providing equal accessibility to leadership programmes and initiatives. This same experience is created for our staff as well. As a youth development organisation, we work with the youthful vibrancy of our stakeholders and students, ensuring that while we seek to catalyse social impact through our young people, we also do the personal good of building a staff team that is enabled to do their best work.

As Head of Fundraising, you will be responsible for digital fundraising and donation events, playing an important role in ensuring we have the financial capacity to deliver our programmes to our youths and youth influencers.

 


 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and iterate a research-outreach strategy to increase our brand and cause awareness to potential donors.
  • Cultivate and manage our portfolio of donors through consistent and value-added engagement, executing a strategy for subsequent, repeated, and/or recurrent donations.
  • Work with partners and our community to receive corporate volunteer hours, CSR grants, and other forms of corporate giving.
  • Oversee the operations of fundraising events and manage the stakeholders involved in each event.
  • Combine traditional fundraising events seamlessly with digital tools, compelling content, and effective fundraising campaigns, to maximize impact and donor engagement.

 

A typical week at work involves

  • Researching and outreaching prospective donor and supporters who are interested in contributing to the cause of youth development: engaging current portfolio of donors, presenting our cause to them during events.
  • Seek innovative ways of corporate giving and stewarding these gifts to benefits the youths we work with.
  • Managing the project timelines and execution of fundraising events such as our Charity Gala Dinner and other virtual alternatives.
  • Engage in community building to increase public awareness and interaction with the organization.
  • Participating in cross-department meetings and management meetings to contribute your perspective and fundraising expertise.

 

What You’ll Achieve

By the end of your first month,

  • You would have a good understanding of the ins-and-outs of the charity organization, social sector, and the organization’s approach to fundraising and needs.
  • You would have a fundamental and workable understanding of compliance, legal, and financial policies regarding donations.
  • You would have co-developed a baseline strategy for outreach, engagement, and cultivation of portfolio with the CDO.

By the end of your sixth month,

  • You would have become the first port-to-call for all things related to fundraising or donor portfolio, and display a marked expertise in managing different stakeholders with finesse.
  • You would have fine-tuned the fundraising strategy into a winning formula unique to Halogen, with a clear USP and right-to-win positioning.
  • You would have developed insights into our donor profiles and utilized data to help you make the right calls to build a tailored and strong relationship with our supporters.

By the end of your first year,

  • You would be the expert in fundraising matters and taken full ownership if researching, outreaching, and cultivating your own portfolio of proven and/or innovative fundraising initiatives.
  • You would have developed a long-term game plan for fundraising ensuring a sustainable and healthy pathway for financial sustenance.
  • You would be an effective catalyst for new partnerships and develop systematic fundraising initiatives with our partners to create more avenues of impact for youth.

Requirements

  • 3 years of fundraising experience with a digital edge
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing role, events management or fundraising function or other relevant fields.
  • Strong understanding of both online and physical communities to forge impactful partnerships.
  • Passionate in youth development and our agency as people who can build a future for Singapore and the region, putting people above all else.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills across various levels of stakeholders
  • Meticulous and detailed oriented, being able to engage with multiple processes and deliver excellence in each of them.
  • Excellent team player, and enjoy working in a dynamic, energetic work environment
  • Enjoy a fast-paced working and learning environment, able to handle stressful situations.
  • Strategic and data-driven in decision making.
