Joyce supports the day-to-day operations of the Halogen leadership team. With a keen eye for details, she ensures materials are present and work well to achieve smooth delivery of our programmes. Known as the ‘office ninja’, Joyce stealthily juggles operations with the coordination and management of public workshops and leadership resources. She enjoys relating with people on a personal level and can be found snapping pictures of beautiful sceneries.
Training & Development (Contract)
Jonathan supports the training aspects of Halogen in programmes like Leadership and Entrepreneurship. With a passion to cultivate a growth mindset in youths, Jonathan also oversees the Intern Training program that equips facilitators with the necessary skills and readiness for our training programmes. Outside of work, he still happens to find himself spending most of his time with his friends in a digital space.
Mustikha rotates across the various functions in Halogen while helming key projects, gaining great exposure and developing insights into the non-profit sector. A community leader outside of work, she is also an active volunteer in her constituency by engaging youths of different walks of life through events and activities, among others. In her downtime, you’ll find her chilling with her family or tinkering with arts & crafts aka origami, knitting, assembling her yet to open BB8 figurine or flower bouquet Lego set.
Special Projects Executive
Eunice is passionate about all things research and data, which sums up her role in the Special Projects team. She manages Halogen’s impact measurement and strives to utilise data to grow the organisation. Outside of work, Eunice enjoys catching up on films and tv shows – pair that with conversations over coffee and pastries is what makes a good day in her books.
Daniel believes in cultivating the next generation of leaders through transformative experiences. This translates to what he does here at Halogen Foundation: incubating ideas, developing new curriculums, and facilitating mentorships. He also loves a good conversation over eggs, toast, and kopi peng.
Training & Development Executive
Chew Hui takes great delight that she get to impact the next generation after being on the receiving end as a youth. With her experience in youth leadership and engagement, she fronts Halogen’s training workshops, operations, and volunteer engagements. She seeks comfort in all things matcha, netball, and a good bowl of ramen. Contrary to popular belief, her surname is Chew.
Xena spends most of her time in training rooms with young people, she hopes to let them see and believe in the influence they possess to own their narrative. Xena toggles different hats from curriculum development to volunteer management and youth-led projects. You will also occasionally catch her popping up like a ball of energy on Halogen’s Social Media channels! Netflix and Disney+ are her favourite apps after work while clocking in a few boxes of chocolates beside her hamster and bunny. If not, you will probably find her on the beach with her notebook doodling away.
Linda manages partnerships with Halogen’s volunteers and drives outreach efforts through recruitment, engagement and development. She believes that the people and community is the backbone of the organisation. Outside of work, Linda likes to immerse herself with nature and her little garden to recharge herself.
Lydia runs the events at Halogen, which includes managing our annual National Young Leaders’ Day and our National Young Leader Award. With an eye for design and a knack for project management, Lydia is energised by a good challenge. A known egg enthusiast, she is always looking at things sunny side up. If she’s not organising events, she can be found organising her home, or out cycling in nature to soothe her soul.
Gina ensures that any internal and external messaging of the organisation is aligned and accurately represented. She also finds fulfilment in developing creative messaging strategies and growing a relationship between brands and consumers. When she’s not at work, she can be found curled up on the couch binging on mind-bending thrillers. Apart from being a homebody, she also enjoys water activities such as kayaking and standup paddleboarding.
Zann manages all visual communications that go in and out of Halogen. From branding to design, marketing strategies to website development, Zann dabbles end-to-end in all things creative and design with the goal of elevating the good work of Halogen. You can often find her grinding out at a CrossFit box, or zenning (haha) out at a Yoga session – if she’s not constantly on the move, she’s probably sipping on coffee with a book in her hand or lazing around at home with her fluffy cat, Ellee.
Solvia strives to cultivate aspiring minds and ambition in the hearts of youths to become entrepreneurs one day. Her prior experience with numerous volunteering opportunities sparked a zeal in her to continue serving others. She strongly believes that each individual is unique, with no two stories alike. Life to her is a highway of roadblocks and resilience is key to overcoming it all. Unfazed by challenges, she successfully skydived from 10,000 feet off the ground. She also succeeded in screaming all the way down.
Chloe coordinates the Entrepreneurship Programme in Halogen by bringing together different stakeholders from Corporate Volunteers to Educators, helping to build an ecosystem for our youths to activate their entrepreneurial mindsets and thrive. Being able to create meaningful connections with people from different walks of life is what Chloe values most about being on the entrepreneurship team. She loves hearing from others and understanding what they believe in. Besides having meaningful conversations with others, her enthusiasm extends to fluffy cats & photo walks, alongside all things chocolate, no matter the occasion.
Leadership Development Consultant
We spend a third of our days in schools, workplaces and our respective communities. Sze Zhin believes that we all play a part in creating positive, empowering and meaningful everyday experiences for one another. He works with schools and organisations to identify leadership solutions to thriving and supportive communities. As a trainer, he works directly with youths and adults to nurture the influence in every one of us to champion our causes, dreams and to see one another through this journey of life. Outside of work, if he cannot be found, he is probably lost in the forests and unmarked trails around Singapore
Puden believes that everyone has the power to give and the ability to make positive impact onto others. Through strategic partnerships with institutions, corporations, and organisations, he strives to bring about meaningful leadership programmes and impactful mentorship conversations. Puden also looks into the business development and relationship management for the leadership and mentoring team to drive growth and ensure relevancy in the ever changing youth landscape. Outside of work, you will find Puden either tending to his underwater world (aquarium) and his mini forest (carnivorous plants), immersed in his Nintendo switch games or having a good game of Mahjong or board games with his family and friends!
Gloria looks after everything fundraising in Halogen – researching prospects, making proposals, writing grants, organising events, nurturing donor relationships, setting strategies, you name it! She believes that fundraising is not all about the money but rather a means to address a need in the community by providing an opportunity for giving. Most importantly, have fun while finding the fund. When she is not at work, she can be found leading tours at the National Museum of Singapore or wandering in one of those exhibitions in town!
Meena organises and maintains all financial records in Halogen. She spends majority of her time managing day-to-day transactions, collecting, compiling and preparing financials. Her occasional on-ground training stints and Human Resource dabble enables and reminds her to pursue her passion towards the organisation’s cause further. Apart from work, Meena relishes in connecting over hearty conversations, shared experiences and listening to memoirs paired with a good cup of teh tarik (siew dai, please!).
Mansha handles all financial matters at Halogen, ensuring checks and balances are in place. She believes that one need not be in the frontlines to make a difference in society. We all can contribute in our own small ways. She likes to exchange life stories with others or just be a couch potato if she manages to get time away from her 3 ‘angels’ at home.
Organisation Development Lead
James is passionate about people development, and actively seeks to tap on his expertise in organisation development and human resource to enhance the social impact of Halogen in Singapore. As an advocate of youths, he regularly works with young people from all walks of life, volunteering as a mentor, coach and youth leader, helping them achieve their aspirations. James enjoys experimenting with new experiences and picking up different skills, often coming out with new recipes in the kitchen, learning a new musical instrument, or simply trying out a new board game.
Chief Training Officer
Sean believes that good work needs to be measured by outcomes and not just intent. A self-critic and deep thinker, he leads the team to build and improve Halogen’s programmes & interventions to have a sustainable and scalable impact. He is also passionate about helping organisations build self-reliance and capability in their people development solutions. In an alternate reality, Sean would be a motorsports racer or adventure junkie. However, he is happy to make do with watching nerdy YouTube videos to learn about how the world, people, and things in it work.

Ivy believes in creating a positive working environment and in developing people as she stewards Halogen’s resources to achieve the larger youth impact goals. Essentially a Chief Everything Officer, she focuses on seeking new partners, funders, and contributors who can enable Halogen’s mission and work. Ivy also enjoys running to clear her head, taking one too many pictures of the skies and flora in her free time. If there ever was a workplace marathon, she’d be in the first place.
Chief Operating Officer
Tim considers the art of mobilising others to impact among the noblest of pursuits and strives to daily achieve that with the team at Halogen. He oversees all operations, process innovation, strategic planning, and new business initiatives – aiming to break barriers for the team to do their good work. Passionate about leadership and community building, Tim focuses on growing staff capability as he grows with them, pushing for ever-greater heights in both performance and culture. At his downtime, he drinks too much coffee, plays too many Apple Arcade games, watches too much Disney+, raps along to Hamilton, trades options at night, and reposts his wife’s Instagram stories of their little girl.
Raye Padit CEO & Founder, The Fashion Pulpit
Raye Padit, a fashion designer on a mission to promote sustainable fashion in Singapore and beyond. In just three years, Raye founded Singapore’s and Asia’s first-ever retail space for swapping and upcycling apparel, The Fashion Pulpit and two non-profits that advocate for sustainable fashion, Connected Threads Asia and Swapaholic (from January 2017 – April 2018).
Raye is regularly asked to conduct talks, workshops, and mentor on circular fashion concepts, entrepreneurship, fashion sustainability and conscious consumerism in cities around Asia.

Winnie Chan is the Founder & CEO of Bynd Artisan, a custom bookbinding and leather-craft atelier. Veronika Kuznetsova Director of Innovation & Strategy, UBS
In her role as Director at UBS Evolve, Veronika is responsible for facilitating and advising on internal innovation initiatives, sourcing & partnering with external fintech solutions, and identifying investment opportunities for future growth. Before joining UBS, she was helping Grab Financial execute on their SuperApp strategy and DigiBank ambitions by leading the Product Development for a new Wealth Management Platform called GrabInvest (through acquisition of B2B startup Bento Invest) and the product launch of their first micro-investment proposition, recently launched in Sinagapore. She also spent eight years at HSBC working on various Digital Strategy projects and ran a dedicated FinTech Accelerator program in Hong Kong called SuperCharger.

Nigel graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Communications and Media Management. With extensive experience in regional marketing and business development, Sandy leads the marketing team for Subaru in 9 markets. June leads the housekeeping department covering 10 markets in Asia. A proactive and positive leader, she ensures that all offices, showrooms and facilities are kept clean and orderly. June has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and enjoys working with a culturally diverse team. She has worked with luxury hotels, service apartments, cruise ships and healthcare facilities in Singapore, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and China. I am a member of the bank’s Leadership Institute and I manage the bank’s leadership programmes. I work with the team to ensure that relevant leadership programmes are identified and delivered across the entire organization seamlessly. I’ve spent time across 6 different industries and almost ways in learning & development. In my spare time, I am online battling others through MMORPG or strategy games. When I am bored I will challenge myself with mysteries and thrillers from Netflix and HBO. Eventually I’ll sleep.
One skill that young job seekers should have (that never gets old) is empathy.
I am extremely passionate about learning and strongly believe that intelligence is not static. Everyone can upskill provided the right opportunity. My current role is supporting the Technology & Operations team in their learning ecosystem. It’s an exciting journey with technology fast evolving and we are constantly upskilling and reskilling, preparing our employees to be future-ready in the face of digitalization. My prior experiences include working in an international bank driving retail banking transformation, client experience, digital adoption as well as strategic business planning.
As a mother of 2 teenage boys, I am constantly busy cooking, baking and experimenting new dishes which is not only therapeutic for me, but a great joy when you see the happy faces enjoying your final product. I have just recently completed my part-time EMBA and am currently looking for a new course to pursue.
One important skill which any new job seeker should have is agility. In today’s VUCA world, it is imperative that we need to be agile in order to quickly pivot and adapt to stay relevant.

Choy Yong Cong
Choy is a Deputy Director at the Economic Development Board, his current portfolio includes working with companies to enhance the economic landscape in Singapore to provide good jobs for Singaporeans. He started his career in the military and the Ministry of Defence, where he served in the Singapore Army as commander of the 2nd Battalion. Apart from leading army personnels, Choy also managed bilateral and multilateral engagements in ASEAN, US, and Israel. He believes good leaders take care of their mission, as well as their men and women.
In his free time, Choy likes to do anything that stimulates his mind, body and soul – like travelling, reading, skiing, diving, and learning new skills.
By profession, Nicolette is a policymaker of technology and healthcare. By choice, she actively volunteers in the community, supporting our migrant friends and mentoring youths at Access SG, a ground-up organisation that provides career exposure opportunities to secondary school students from backgrounds and educational streams which are traditionally less reached.
Nicolette is also one of the founders of the chopeandsave.com initiative, a website to help mobilise loyal customers to provide much-needed support for their favourite small businesses amidst the global COVID-19 situation.

Amanda Chong co-founded ReadAble, a non-profit organisation that runs weekly English literacy classes for children and migrant women in a low-income neighbourhood since 2014, with the aim of improving social mobility. She is a lawyer trained in Cambridge and Harvard, who writes poems on her lunch breaks. A winner of the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award, her poetry has been engraved on the Marina Bay Helix Bridge. Amanda is interested in exploring themes of gender and power in both her poetry and academic writing, which has been published in the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender. Her creative work has appeared in Monocle, the Straits Times and Quarterly Literary Review Singapore.
Isaac’s life’s mission is to use music, media and messages to transform society positively. Having gone on his first humanitarian trip when he was 17 years old to a refugee camp along the borders of Thailand, his life was radically transformed and today he spends his life finding ways to love and serve others. He started his own social enterprise called Colours Global, a company that architects creative solutions to tackle social problems across Asia. They are presently at work with the Singapore Girls Home, helping to rehabilitate youths at risk through music and art, and assisting a NGO in Batam thats seeks to provide a better life for the children living in the slums. Isaac also uses his media platforms to bring awareness about social issues around Asia, and have been featured on both local and international news. He was also a finalist on The Voice Singapore and Malaysia.
Nurshahidah is Singapore’s first professional female boxer and the founder of Juggernaut Studio. She represented Team Singapore Boxing in the South East Asian Games 2015 and her dedication to her craft has helped her progress forward and gain more exposure. Her professional record of 8 wins and 2 defeats brought about her nickname ‘The Sniper’ with 6 wins via knockout. She currently holds 4 Championship belts and was also awarded WBC Asia Female Champion of 2017.
As a strong advocator for women’s rights, she would like to see female boxing in Singapore grow to a higher level, with more women stepping up to the task of being a professional boxer. She hopes to be the source of inspiration for local female boxing scene to thrive.
Ying is the brainchild of Li Ying – elusive, instinctive and arty. Using fabrics as her canvas, she creates wearable art by translating her inspirations and thoughts into one-of-a-kind art pieces using abstract brush strokes dipped in a whimsical watercolour palette.
Ying mentions, “I felt that the market has a gap in the availability of unique pieces, and I wanted to go beyond fashion and inspire. I am a strong believer of how less is more, but adding something exceptional to the ‘ less’ can bring out one’s personality and I hope to use my paintings to do that. Fann Wong is a Singaporean actress, singer and model signed to Catwalk Asia, an artiste management company from Taiwan.
Her acting talent started since childhood and after just a year in the television industry, her role in Chronicle of Life (缘尽今生) led her to be the first actress to win both the Best Actress and Best Newcomer awards at Singapore’s Star Awards 1995. After gaining regional exposure and popularity in Asia through various television productions, she became the first Singaporean actress to venture into Hollywood, playing a lead role in the 2003 film, Shanghai Knights.
Fann also ventured into the China market and won the Best Asia Artist and Asia’s Most Popular Actress in China’s 2012 Tripod Awards.
Yuhui is a creative content creator for &whyte, who goes by the username – @Spoiltbytes. After working in an advertising industry for almost a decade, Yuhui decided to dedicate most of her time into the endless pit of social media content creation. She is active on Instagram which she uses the platform to share her dreams, inspirational quotes, travel adventures and her two fluffy cats.
Outside work she also loves to embark on projects that uses design and creative ideas for a social cause.
Yuhui is also the creator behind Actseed Co. where she brings her creative output to life in products. She believes that when you buy something from a designer, you’re not just buying an item but you’re investing into somebody’s passion.
Starting out on YouTube at the tender age of 14, Joie Tan began her musical journey by posting covers of vocal-heavy popular songs on the platform. Her renditions were met with tremendously positive reception, giving her opportunities to go from bedroom covers to live performances.
A prolific fresh graduate, the 22-year-old is currently working towards her debut album that is set to release at the beginning of next year.
An emcee, designer and art facilitator with an unabashed love for lettering, Josh has taught calligraphy workshops and hand-lettered a wide range of commissioned typographic works: from weddings, posters to even wall murals.
A 2014 TEDxYouth Singapore speaker, Josh has also emceed for events such as the 28th SEA Games and hosted in front of crowds of more than 50,000 at venues like the National Stadium and OCBC Aquatic Centre.

But increasingly parents find that the full development of a child has to be a collaborative and integrated one, very much needing the support and advice of schools and those in youth sector. Preeya aims to combat deforestation with Phyto-solar, a solar-panel powered plant that can help to have cleaner air while minimising the time needed to care for an actual plant.
East View Secondary School has been onboard the NFTE programme since 2016, taking on the in-curriculum model from 2017. Since then, we have seen three batches of NFTE graduands. As each year passes by, I have the privilege of witnessing the boost of confidence in each student throughout their NFTE journey. The students go through various planned activities that encourage them to speak out, progressively giving them chances to present in front of their class, finally pitching their business ideas within 6 minutes before a panel of esteemed judges.The sponsorship of the business attire brings about a newfound confidence in them as well. It is as the saying goes “Clothes make the man”, the change of the outward appearance alters the way they perceive themselves. This, coupled with their newfound knowledge in business ideation and planning as well as the support from volunteers, results in the shift of their own mindset. They surpass all our expectations and it brings me such great joy to hear them present with determination and self-belief. With each presentation, my heart grows with pride for my students and I will want all my colleagues to witness their growth as well.

However, there is also the hassle of ensuring that the contact lenses are clean, and especially so for busy Singaporeans. Hence, Darius created a self-cleaning contact lens case to help its users reduce the risk of having an eye infection while eliminating the hassle of the time to clean them.

Parkour is an increasingly popular activity that appeals to youths, and spotting this trend, Kai Hsien created Flipping Around, a parkour gym that is perfect for young Singaporeans who are looking to dabble in Parkour. It is an ideal place for them to destress and build new friendships over a common interest.

Rushing for class, facing endless queues, only to find you have an empty wallet? This is a common problem experienced by students everyday. Willard’s School Canteen Checkout aims to change this situation by instituting a grab-and-go system in the canteen, without queuing, and automatically making payment through their e-wallet later in the day. It’s the Amazon Go for school canteens.

Clothes and discarded textiles make up a large proportion of what ends up in landfills. Huda believes that upcycling is one of many ways to create a sustainable future, and she hopes that more people will tackle this issue by changing the way we make, use and dispose of clothing. Through her business, she wants to give old clothes new life and encourage eco-friendliness through reusable and upcycled clothes.

I am passionate about volunteering with young people. I was once a lost boy. I had always known I wanted to serve the community. I believe that all of us are capable of sparking change in the life of a young person. Growing up, I’ve seen my relatives struggle with the results of the choices made in their youth, one reason being due to the lack of support and guidance received. To me, the future of young people is similar to the process of clay moulding. Without the guidance of an experienced potter, the clay would never reach its’ full potential.
