With his expertise in youth leadership and engagement, he leads the charge in managing and executing Halogen’s empowering training programmes, tailored to support and uplift today’s youth. Having spent nine years in the Rotaract youth organization, Diva’s involvement has further enriched his understanding of youth empowerment. Jonathan spent a good number of years creating tiny little banners that followed you everywhere you went on the Internet. Believing that knowledge, like wisdom, should be passed on, Jonathan sought out a path where he could be in a position of influence to the youths coming up behind him.. like an Uncle Ben to a Peter Parker, “With great power comes great responsibility.” He spends his free time doing the laundry and cleaning the house. If there is more time after that, he’ll read some comic books or play video games.

Veronica enjoys working with people to facilitate projects that drive positive change in society. With an intense passion for social issues, Hazeem co-founded 2 non-profits, ALittleChange in 2016 and The Signpost Project in 2019. He modeled his non-profit journey after one of his favourite quotes: ‘We are the world, a tiny fraction of it. And when we love and change someone, we mold together a tiny little broken piece of the universe’.

Outside of work, he is a Rhodes scholar who is planning to pursue two Masters at the University of Oxford.

Group Director (Crisis Strategy & Operations Group), Ministry of Health

Dinesh was appointed as Group Director, Crisis Strategy and Operations Group, MOH in July 2020 to provide leadership and oversee the translation of the Ministry’s mission and intent into operational strategy and plans, preventing and controlling emerging infectious diseases by ensuring that they are supported with robust systems, processes, medical preparedness and response to civil disasters and national emergencies, in order to optimise health outcomes for Singaporeans. Most recently, Dinesh and his team led the rollout of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme in Singapore. Before MOH, Dinesh served in the SAF for 23 years, with his last appointment being Commander of the 2nd People’s Defence Force. Outside of work, he is a husband of 20 years and a happy father of three, giving back to society while volunteering in several interest groups.

Yi Jun is Co-Founder & President of Advisory Singapore, a fully youth-led nonprofit which has empowered over 163,000 young Singaporeans of different backgrounds to make informed career and further education choices. Seeing the work they do leave a lasting impact on youths drives him and his team at advisory to keep going.

He received the Queen’s Young Leaders Award, the Diana Award, and was a Deloitte-One Young World Scholar. He is also a Climate Reality Leader, a Pacific Forum Young Leader, and the Outgoing Curator of the Singapore Hub of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community.

As a rising sophomore at SMU, Rachel studies Psychology and is taking Urban Sustainability & Innovation as part of her second major. During her gap year in 2020, Rachel and her friend discussed starting an initiative called Package Pals to help businesses reduce waste. Founder & CEO, Hush TeaBar

Besides being a former Nominated Member of Parliament, Anthea is an entrepreneur who founded social enterprises such as Hush Tea Bar and A Good Space. Her most notable initiative Hush Tea Bar, is a silent tea bar that aims to promote self-care and social inclusion in every workplace, by employing only the Deaf and people who are in recovery from mental health conditions.

In addition to her passion for social causes, she is also a certified yoga instructor, natural therapy practitioner, and a reiki practitioner.

Co-Founder, Break the Cycle

Andrew was incarcerated for rioting in a gang fight during his late teens. Fast forward to today, Andrew is now paying it forward with the help of many others who had believed in him in his transformation journey.

Andrew pays it forward through a ground-up initiative called Break The Cycle which he co-founded with his friends, Joseph Ho and Carter Ng. Break the Cycle uses cycling as a medium to support ex-offenders break their cycle of recidivism.

Founder, ItsRainingRaincoats

Dipa’s encounters with migrant workers eventually led to the birth of the non-profit organisation ItsRainingRaincoats. Over the years, Dipa has grown the organisation from a one-woman operation to a team of more than 1500 volunteers committed to improving the lives of migrant workers.

In addition to her non-profit work, Dipa is a well established Harvard educated lawyer who is currently working as the Assistant General Counsel at Singtel, and is a two-time recipient of the President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Award.

Founder & Executive Director, New Life Stories

Saleemah is an international development professional, social entrepreneur, and gender equality advocate. She first started her career in the private sector before moving on to work for UN Women and UNDP in Asia and South America.

In addition to her efforts to advance diversity, she also founded Aidha, a business school for immigrants and low-income families in 2006, as well as New Life Stories, a non-profit that assists incarcerated parents with their children. She also serves on numerous nonprofit boards and committees in the region.

Founder, Green Nudge

A public officer turned social enterprise founder, Li Seng the founder of Green Nudge, aims to create a shift in the way waste is created and dealt with. He was inspired by Rima Chai, the “Tyre Lady” who dragged a tyre with her at marathons around the world to advocate for recycling.

Through Green Nudge, his interests in sustainability were turned into learning opportunities for others, such as, organising a dating clean-up for singles, collecting preloved soap bars to recycle, and providing gifts to migrant workers.

Co-Founder, FiTree

With a keen interest in sustainable development, Farah began her journey as an undergraduate working on her thesis about environmental education for kindergarten children. She believes that it is vital to be inclusive in the sustainability journey, which inspired her to start Repair Kopitiam, an initiative to combat the buy-and-throw culture in Singapore by reviving the repair culture.

She is also a co-founder of FiTree, an Islamic environmental group, and a Singapore Futures Fellow, where she co-designs and delivers futures programmes for NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Executive Education.

Head of Climate Impacts Branch, Centre for Climate Research Singapore

When Jeff was a boy, growing up on the Island of Anglesey in North Wales, he was caught in a violent storm at sea on his fishing boat. This made him fascinated by the earth’s climate and its complexities. This interest eventually led him to pursue a career in Climate Change research.

Jeff is currently the Head of the Climate Impact Branch at the Centre for Climate Research Singapore, and also a Climate Change Advisor to the National Youth Achievement Award Council.

Head, Corporate Affairs (Singapore & Southeast Asia), Sembcorp Industries

Valerie is a sustainability advocate, energy specialist by profession, an avid volunteer outside of work and an explorer at heart.

She has spent over a decade working in Singapore’s energy transition and sustainability sector. Now as Head of Corporate Affairs (Singapore & Southeast Asia) at Sembcorp Industries, she works with business units to develop sustainable strategies and communication plans that help deliver long-term shareholder value and growth.

It brings her joy to be surrounded by people who are passionate about communicating and advocating the work that sustainability professionals do.

Special Assistant to ESM Goh Chok Tong

Andre’s experience with policy making began in 2010, where he started as the Assistant Director for the Housing Policy Division in the Ministry of National Development. For the past 11 years, he has worked for the Ministry of Home Affairs, People’s Association, and most recently, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Education.

Outside of work, he seeks contentment by challenging himself in multiple ways, such as, pursuing an Executive MBA at INSEAD and keeping healthy through tennis and F45.

Director & Head, Centre for Strategic Futures, Prime Minister’s Office

With over 15 years of experience in the civil service and as a founding member of the Centre for Strategic Futures, Jeanette was involved in expanding the centre’s network of exciting minds and interesting personalities and growing future capabilities across the public service.

A political scientist and economist by training, there is nothing she enjoys more than the endless curiosity about why things are, not just what or how, and seeing one’s eyes light up when they realise how much the world of endless possibilities awaits them.

Deputy Director, Digital Economy Enablers department in the Industry Division of MCI

Joyce is a teacher-turned-policymaker who is now with MCI. Her team looks at tech policy and R&D, with an interest in digital technologies like AI and cybersecurity, to grow a vibrant digital economy in Singapore.

Prior to MCI, she has been with MOE to review how we design our education pathways to encourage different definitions of success, and with MTI to establish Singapore as a great place to visit, work and play.

Principal, Kaye Consulting, Singapore Futures Fellow, Executive Education LKYSPP

After spending more than a decade in the Singapore Civil Service, Sheila founded Kaye Consulting in 2019 to provide expertise in strategic communications, foresight and scenario planning, and leadership development to government and industry.

As a Singapore Futures Fellow, she teaches foresight to executives at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. She does curriculum consultancy, leadership coaching, and programme design and curation for private sector companies and for institutions such as the Civil Service College and Healthcare Leadership College.

Sheila is certified as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coach Federation.

Finance Executive

Ray firmly believes that every role carries opportunities to make an impact. As a Finance Executive, he handles all aspects of Halogen’s finance operations, from the day-to-day financial transactions, making sure the organisation’s accounting records are prim and proper, to ensuring there are adequate materials in the office. Through these, he contributes to maintaining the continuity of the organisation’s programmes and operations. Outside of work, Ray loves jamming to his favourite rock tunes on guitar and winds down with a run or a good tennis session.

Consultant

Andy firmly believes in honing a growth mindset, especially amidst the current dynamic and uncertain world. Rather than shunning change, it is to continuously upskill in order to embrace and excel in a “D-VUCAD” world. He works with schools and organisations to identify and ideate youth development solutions that will co-create the future. Being a proud father of three – a pair of adorable twins and a cat – his free time is spent catching up on Tayo or the latest Cocomelon videos.

Senior Communications Executive

Zann manages all visual communications that go in and out of Halogen. From branding to design, marketing strategies to website development, Zann dabbles end-to-end in all things creative and design with the goal of elevating the good work of Halogen. You can often find her grinding out at a CrossFit box, or zenning (haha) out at a Yoga session – if she’s not constantly on the move, she’s probably sipping on coffee with a book in her hand or lazing around at home with her fluffy cat, Ellee.

Chief Growth Officer

Sean believes that good work needs to be measured by outcomes and not just intent. A self-critic and deep thinker, he leads the team to build and improve Halogen’s programmes & interventions to have a sustainable and scalable impact. He is also passionate about helping organisations build self-reliance and capability in their people development solutions. In an alternate reality, Sean would be a motorsports racer or adventure junkie. However, he is happy to make do with watching nerdy YouTube videos to learn about how the world, people, and things in it work.

Transformation Executive

Lydia runs the events at Halogen, which includes managing our annual National Young Leaders’ Day and our National Young Leader Award. With an eye for design and a knack for project management, Lydia is energised by a good challenge. A known egg enthusiast, she is always looking at things sunny side up. If she’s not organising events, she can be found organising her home, or out cycling in nature to soothe her soul.

Head of Community

Linda manages partnerships with Halogen’s volunteers and drives outreach efforts through recruitment, engagement and development. She believes that the people and community is the backbone of the organisation. Outside of work, Linda likes to immerse herself in nature and her little garden to recharge herself.

Academy Executive

Xena spends most of her time in training rooms with young people, she hopes to let them see and believe in the influence they possess to own their narrative. Xena toggles different hats from curriculum development to volunteer management and youth-led projects. You will also occasionally catch her popping up like a ball of energy on Halogen’s Social Media channels! Netflix and Disney+ are her favourite apps after work while clocking in a few boxes of chocolates beside her hamster and bunny. If not, you will probably find her on the beach with her notebook doodling away.

Chew Hui takes great delight that she get to impact the next generation after being on the receiving end as a youth. With her experience in youth leadership and engagement, she fronts Halogen’s training workshops, operations, and volunteer engagements. She seeks comfort in all things matcha, netball, and a good bowl of ramen. Contrary to popular belief, her surname is Chew.

Impact & Development Executive

Daniel believes in cultivating the next generation of leaders through transformative experiences­­­­. This translates to what he does here at Halogen Foundation: incubating ideas, developing new curriculums, and facilitating mentorships. He also loves a good conversation over eggs, toast, and kopi peng.

Eunice is passionate about all things research and data, which sums up her role in the Special Projects team. She manages Halogen’s impact measurement and strives to utilise data to grow the organisation. Outside of work, Eunice enjoys catching up on films and tv shows – pair that with conversations over coffee and pastries is what makes a good day in her books.

Solvia strives to cultivate aspiring minds and ambition in the hearts of youths to become entrepreneurs one day. Her prior experience with numerous volunteering opportunities sparked a zeal in her to continue serving others. She strongly believes that each individual is unique, with no two stories alike. Life to her is a highway of roadblocks and resilience is key to overcoming it all. Unfazed by challenges, she successfully skydived from 10,000 feet off the ground. She also succeeded in screaming all the way down.

Senior Consultant

We spend a third of our days in schools, workplaces and our respective communities. Sze Zhin believes that we all play a part in creating positive, empowering and meaningful everyday experiences for one another. He works with schools and organisations to identify leadership solutions to thriving and supportive communities. As a trainer, he works directly with youths and adults to nurture the influence in every one of us to champion our causes, dreams and to see one another through this journey of life. Outside of work, if he cannot be found, he is probably lost in the forests and unmarked trails around Singapore

Fundraising Manager

Puden believes that everyone has the power to give and the ability to make positive impact onto others. Through strategic partnerships with institutions, corporations, and organisations, he strives to bring about meaningful leadership programmes and impactful mentorship conversations. Puden also looks into the business development and relationship management for the leadership and mentoring team to drive growth and ensure relevancy in the ever changing youth landscape. Outside of work, you will find Puden either tending to his underwater world (aquarium) and his mini forest (carnivorous plants), immersed in his Nintendo switch games or having a good game of Mahjong or board games with his family and friends!

Head of Finance

Mansha handles all financial matters at Halogen, ensuring checks and balances are in place. She believes that one need not be in the frontlines to make a difference in society. We all can contribute in our own small ways. She likes to exchange life stories with others or just be a couch potato if she manages to get time away from her 3 ‘angels’ at home.

James is passionate about people development, and actively seeks to tap on his expertise in organisation development and human resource to enhance the social impact of Halogen in Singapore. As an advocate of youths, he regularly works with young people from all walks of life, volunteering as a mentor, coach and youth leader, helping them achieve their aspirations. James enjoys experimenting with new experiences and picking up different skills, often coming out with new recipes in the kitchen, learning a new musical instrument, or simply trying out a new board game.

Chloe coordinates the Entrepreneurship Programme in Halogen by bringing together different stakeholders from Corporate Volunteers to Educators, helping to build an ecosystem for our youths to activate their entrepreneurial mindsets and thrive. Being able to create meaningful connections with people from different walks of life is what Chloe values most about being on the entrepreneurship team. She loves hearing from others and understanding what they believe in. Besides having meaningful conversations with others, her enthusiasm extends to fluffy cats & photo walks, alongside all things chocolate, no matter the occasion.

Joyce supports the day-to-day operations of the Halogen leadership team. With a keen eye for details, she ensures materials are present and work well to achieve smooth delivery of our programmes. Known as the ‘office ninja’, Joyce stealthily juggles operations with the coordination and management of public workshops and leadership resources. She enjoys relating with people on a personal level and can be found snapping pictures of beautiful sceneries.

Communications Executive

Gina ensures that any internal and external messaging of the organisation is aligned and accurately represented. She also finds fulfilment in developing creative messaging strategies and growing a relationship between brands and consumers. When she’s not at work, she can be found curled up on the couch binging on mind-bending thrillers. Apart from being a homebody, she also enjoys water activities such as kayaking and standup paddleboarding.

Fundraising Manager

Gloria looks after everything fundraising in Halogen – researching prospects, making proposals, writing grants, organising events, nurturing donor relationships, setting strategies, you name it! She believes that fundraising is not all about the money but rather a means to address a need in the community by providing an opportunity for giving. Most importantly, have fun while finding the fund. When she is not at work, she can be found leading tours at the National Museum of Singapore or wandering in one of those exhibitions in town!

Chief Executive Officer

Ivy believes in creating a positive working environment and in developing people as she stewards Halogen’s resources to achieve the larger youth impact goals. Essentially a Chief Everything Officer, she focuses on seeking new partners, funders, and contributors who can enable Halogen’s mission and work. Ivy also enjoys running to clear her head, taking one too many pictures of the skies and flora in her free time. If there ever was a workplace marathon, she’d be in the first place.

Chief Operating Officer

Tim considers the art of mobilising others to impact among the noblest of pursuits and strives to daily achieve that with the team at Halogen. He oversees all operations, process innovation, strategic planning, and new business initiatives – aiming to break barriers for the team to do their good work. Passionate about leadership and community building, Tim focuses on growing staff capability as he grows with them, pushing for ever-greater heights in both performance and culture. At his downtime, he drinks too much coffee, plays too many Apple Arcade games, watches too much Disney+, raps along to Hamilton, trades options at night, and reposts his wife’s Instagram stories of their little girl.
