The Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE, pronounced ‘nifty’) programme is designed to activate the entrepreneurial mindset and build business skills in youth, especially those from underserved backgrounds.
The programme culminates in the NFTE Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (NYEC), with the top three students from each NFTE school pitching their business ideas to a panel of esteemed judges.
NFTE students learn how to think and act like entrepreneurs, developing competencies in eight key areas. Each lesson is coupled with an activity that targets a specific area and mindset.

Future Orientation
Creativity & Innovation
Critical Thinking
& Problem Solving
Comfort with Risk
Initiative & Self-Reliance
Flexibility & Adaptability

The Project-based Learning approach is a teaching method that gives students the opportunity to explore complex, real-world problems to learn concepts rather than through direct instruction. This allows students to take charge of their learning, resulting in a deeper understanding of the content.
The Lean Canvas Model facilitates students’ personal entrepreneurial journey, enhancing adaptability and ownership of their business ideas.
Facilitators and corporate volunteers mentor students in market research, financials, and presentation skills within the NFTE Curriculum.
Students gain insights from business owners and entrepreneurs who discuss their experiences, highlighting both the obstacles and successes they encountered on their entrepreneurial path.
Students explore the inner workings of an enterprise through on-site visits, where they learn from business owners about crafting comprehensive customer experiences.
Students present their business concepts to a distinguished panel in a school-wide entrepreneurial contest.
This nation-wide business proposal contest features the top three students from each NFTE school presenting their innovative business ideas to a panel of respected judges from diverse industry backgrounds.
We partner schools to offer an extended growth journey for NFTE Graduates in their following year of school. These programmes come in the form of mentorship, work experience, and other developmental opportunities.
If you’re a business owner looking to share your entrepreneurial expertise with the next generation, you’ve come to the right place.
If you’re part of an educational institution and want to find out more about how to become a NFTE school, let’s meet!
The NFTE Graduate Mentorship Programme (GMP) is a six-month mentorship tailored specifically for Secondary 4 graduates of the NFTE programme, and serves as an opportunity for NFTE alumni to achieve personal growth and further develop themselves.
The programme will be conducted across 6 mentoring sessions, including one kick-off session, with the first and final sessions held face-to-face.
In line with the NFTE GMP, Halogen is also collaborating with Tolaram to offer a special monthly scholarship to shortlisted NFTE GMP mentees, to alleviate their households’ financial needs.
Interested applicants for this scholarship must be a mentee under the NFTE GMP.
