Job Opening: Communications and Marketing Manager

Halogen Foundation aims to inspire and influence a generation of young people to lead themselves and others well, and we take that mission seriously with our staff as well. Being a youth development organisation, we work with the youthful vibrancy of our stakeholders and students, ensuring that while we do the social good of building young leaders and entrepreneurs, we also do the personal good of building a staff team that is enabled to do their best work.

As a Communications and Marketing Manager, you will lead the communications team as an integral part of the organisation. You will be in charge of all corporate communications and cause marketing, along with managing how we interact with our external stakeholders. You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, and oversee all functions of the team.

 


 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the external communications done by the organisation
  • Lead a team of executives to deliver on key results that will support the organisation in branding, visual identity, marketing, and corporate communications
  • Formulate the organisation’s digital marketing and content marketing strategy and develop tactical marketing plans for each of our product and programme lines
  • Execute digital and content marketing plans through all current platforms, working closely with the communications team to develop content for organic and paid posts
  • Track and analyse effectiveness of marketing through Google Analytics and other ROI tracking systems

 

A typical week at work involves

  • Influencing all communications projects directly and charting their aim
  • Stand-ups and 1:1s with your team, getting updates and making strategic decisions to break down barriers for them
  • Developing and adhering to the communications strategy of the organisation
  • Setting and maintaining the standards for operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Participating in top-level management meetings as part of the organisation steering team

 

What You’ll Achieve

By the end of your first month,

  • You would have a working understanding of the ins-and-outs of the charity organisation, social service sector, and our communications state of play
  • You would have built a healthy working relationship with your team and built an understanding of each other’s working styles
  • You would have a clear view on what you would like to achieve for the organisation in the short- and long-term

By the end of your sixth month,

  • You would have contributed significantly to the communications and marketing outputs of the organisation
  • You would have devised a well-rounded strategy that is actively deployed and adhered to, pertaining to digital marketing and content marketing
  • You would be the first port-of-call for all things related to communications for any other department

By the end of your first year,

  • You would hold an expert understanding on the needs and value of the communications team
  • You would be an effective leader in the organisation and a mentor to your own team
  • You would have achieved an increased reach, engagement, and brand presence for Halogen Foundation

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a digital marketing role
  • Experience using Facebook Business Manager, Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and Hootsuite. HubSpot certification is a plus
  • Experience in managing or leading a team would be highly favourable
  • Passionate in youth development and our agency as people who can build the future of Singapore, putting people above all else

  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills across various levels  stakeholders
  • Willing to take reasonable risks, make healthy mistakes, and learn from them
